About

Yeadon Theatre Company a charitable organisation was formally known under the name YAODS. We are members of NODA; the national body that represents amateur theatre. Whilst part of our mission is to provide entertainment for both our members and audiences, we also use our platform to raise money for good causes. Previous charities we have helped include Martin House Hospice, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Candlelighters, to name just a few.

We also won the NODA Reg Vinnicombe Award in 2018 for Best Musical.

We aim to entertain.

History

Welcome to Yeadon Theatre Company! We are a friendly, community run theatre company based in the heart of Yeadon. Established since 1930, we are renowned for our outstanding, show-stopping sell out theatrical productions. We welcome members from all over from Yorkshire and pride ourselves in being a Company that is open and approachable to members new and old. Most of our shows can be seen at Yeadon Town Hall but we do sometimes use other, more intimate venues.

Typically we do three shows a year; a big musical production, a smaller show and a Christmas Concert. We also hold other, smaller community events such as quiz nights, strawberry teas and coffee mornings.

The Future

We recently voted as a Company for a change of name, to reflect the needs of our audience and bring us more up to date. Whilst we very much enjoy traditional shows such as Carousel, the Sound of Music and Oklahoma, we have also welcomed more modern works as was demonstrated by our award winning performances of Made in Dagenham, 9 to 5 and Little Shop of Horrors. It is fair to say that we haven’t done much in the way of Operatics for a while! We felt the time was right to change our name to something that more reflected our current works but rest assured, we are still the same strong and successful Theatre Company and we will continue to entertain you with stage shows from a variety of genres.

The Future

With the continued support of our fantastic audiences, talented members and award winning performances, we are proud of our achievements to date. We attract some of the best directors, musical directors and choreographers in our field and we are always interested to hear from anyone who would like the opportunity to work with us.
